Dear students,
My name is Avi Ben-Ezra and i am a 35 year old Australian/American  man who has resided in China for the past eight years for the dual purpose of teaching English and improving my Chinese cultural studies.

I was brought up on a small Island in the Pacific Ocean called Hawaii. I have beautiful sister, loving mom and dad Later on, my dad, who works for US Navy was transferred to Melbourne, Australia. This is where I graduated in Criminal Psychology at Melbourne University.After graduation, I went to California and joined the US Marine corp. In 2003, I was stationed at the 38th parallel in South Korea. This was my first time to step foot on to the Asian continent.  After finishing my service, I wanted to continue to explore Asia and eventually made it to China. In 2006  I became qualified as an IELTS speaking examiner which was a great job at first because of all the travel but I had realized that a majority of students I was examining were making the exact same mistakes. This made we want to teach IELTS rather than examine it.

The first school I began teaching at was New Oriental, and during that time not only did I develop better understanding of what was holding students back from getting their ideal score but also started to accumulate more experience in other testing systems such as the TOEFL iBT, GRE and the SAT. 

After a year of training, I was fulfilling the dream of my students by helping them receive scores in the 95-112 range for TOEFL and 6.5-8 for IELTS. 

Nowadays I freelance my skills and have also acquired knowledge in the IB and AP programs of International schools.
